Toni Braxton accidently exposed her derriere during a performance in New Brunswick, N.J., over the weekend.

The 45-year-old R&B singer-songwriter, who is known for the No. 1 hits "You're Makin' Me High" and "Unbreak My Heart," was sporting a skimpy sequin dress when the string holding up the back section loosened, exposing her rear end to her screaming fans.

Braxton proceeded to sing for about minute before the wardrobe malfunction was brought to her attention, during which time she invited several male fans to dance with her on stage.

"I was dancing doing the one-two and I kind of thought, 'Are my [breasts] exposed? I am feeling air,'" Braxton told Yahoo's Omg!. "I remember that distinctly, so that's why I held the top of the dress but then I realized the whole dress was coming apart. The whole dress just fell apart on stage!"

Though it appears as if she is naked under the skimpy dress, the mother of two told Yahoo's Omg! that she had prepared for such a mishap.

"I had a bodysuit on but it was very skimpy," she noted. "Little tricks of the trade."

"I was uncomfortable," Braxton admitted. "I can't deny I was uncomfortable, but I made it work and the audience kind of laughed and it turned into a burlesque show."

As for the cheering crowd that appeared to revel in the singer's indecent exposure, Braxton added, "I should have charged more for the tickets. Who knew?"

Braxton was able to cover up her bottom when a fan, whom she had previously invited on stage to dance with her, offered up his suit jacket, which she quickly accepted.

"You know, you have to make every moment work," Braxton told Yahoo's Omg!. "You make it a part of the show and I just thought how lucky I was that the whole thing didn't come apart! We laughed about it and we made it work, but that's all you can do. Breathe through it all."

Eventually a backup singer ran over and fixed the dress.

Braxton released a duet single with R&B musician Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds on Monday titled "Hurt You." The pair reportedly plan on releasing additional singles together later in the year.
