A man is in police custody after pulling a knife Thursday morning outside the set of NBC's "Today" show in New York City's Rockefeller Plaza.
An Asian male in his 50s reportedly produced a box cutter and threatened to harm himself before being tackled and Maced by security personnel around 8 a.m. Thursday. The man was taken to Bellevue Hospital. No one else was injured in the incident.

"There was an incident out on the plaza," "Today" anchor Matt Lauer informed viewers on the air. "A man attempted to harm himself with a knife. He did manage to cut himself. He was controlled by our security team out there, however, he did harm himself in some way, so he's now being attended to by medical personnel."

of the man.
A different man made a public suicide attempt earlier this year
when he walked into a California Home Depot store, picked up several small saws, and began cutting both his arms. An off-duty paramedic kept the man alive until emergency rescue crews responded and transported him to a nearby hospital.
