Quick-thinking and lip-reading abilities allowed two Texas teens to help save a woman who had allegedly been kidnapped last month.

The just-released 911 call reveals the gripping moment when the teens spotted a 25-year-old woman mouthing "help me" from the backseat of a vehicle, ABC reported.

It was the blonde's good looks that first attracted the attention of Aaron Arias, 19, and Jamal Harris, 17, on Aug. 22. But the situation quickly turned serious when the woman mouthed for help to the soon-to-be heroes.

"It’s me and another guy," Arias told the dispatcher after dialing 911. "So we’re checking out the girl in the backseat because, we're like, 'OK, she's kind of attractive.'"

Suddenly they realized something was wrong.

"Then all of a sudden the guy is turned back, looking at us. We looked in the backseat and the blonde female in the back was saying 'help me' or something, whispering it," Arias said.

The teens followed the vehicle for miles until police caught up to them.

"Thank God. You guys are awesome!" Arias shouted to the dispatcher as police arrived. "Oh my God. Oh my God. Get him! Oh my God!"

Charles Atkins Lewis Jr. was arrested, charged with aggravated kidnapping, and held on a $50,000 bond. Police say he kidnapped the woman from a downtown office after hitting her with a gun.

The unidentified woman, who was unhurt, gave the young men a grateful hug, according to NBC DFW.

"I would describe it as the best hug I have ever gotten," Arias later told reporters.

Posters on ABCNews.com praised the young men for their actions.

"Brave teenagers, they didn't ignore a situation but acted in the proper way by calling the authorities," one person wrote. "Even if it hadn't been a kidnapping, better safe then sorry. Good job kids!"

"I love this story, but WHY do you show a photo of the kidnapper??? Show us the faces of the two teenage heroes instead. They are the ones who deserve all of the attention, not the criminal (this goes for all stories, by the way)," another one posted.
