An uplifting message on a takeout food container made a California woman feel a little better about being dumped Sunday.

Samantha La Rocco, 23, had been bumming around after her boyfriend of a year and a half left her.

"I had just been dumped and was in full-blown break up mode," she told GoodMorningAmerica.com. "I was ordering food in, and my hair was mess and I had my breakup pants on."

She decided to order a salad on Seamless.com from Truly Vegan, a restaurant in Los Angeles, and added a line under the "special instructions" section of the online order form: "I've just been dumped. Please draw something inspiring on the container."

La Rocco didn’t even expect the restaurant to notice the note, let alone comply with it, she told Good Morning America.

But when she received her delivery, she was amazed to see a stick figure drawn on the front of the container. It was holding a sign with hearts that said, "You're worth it." Beneath that, someone had scrawled, "You don't need him to be happy" with a shining sun above it.

"It was the happiest salad I've ever had in my life. I kept the container. It's still in the refrigerator," she told GMA. "This is the best breakup I've had. The food container thing has totally helped."

La Rocco's heartwarming story is a welcome change of pace from the recent flurry of mean-spirited restaurant receipt notes. In June, a father and son duo ate at a Missouri bar and grill restaurant, but when the bill came, the man was shocked to see "f—ing needy kid" written on the ticket.
