Barbra Streisand is now blaming President Donald Trump for her weight gain. Perhaps she would be less stressed out and thinner if she had left the country like she promised if he was elected.
Streisand took to Twitter over the weekend to call out Trump for causing her to put on pounds, said the Washington Examiner.
Her tweet came after Trump claimed former President Barack Obama had tapped his phones during the campaign.
The accusations apparently drove Streisand to eat even more, based on another tweet she posted.
The singer, a vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton throughout the presidential campaign, had told Australia’s “60 Minutes” that she planned to leave the U.S. if Trump was elected, recalled Fox News.
And she's on record for mocking Trump. In a blog post in September, Streisand said Trump resembled “a raccoon in a tanning bed,” noted the Huffington Post.
Despite Streisand’s claim that Trump is to blame for her weight gain, a 2014 interview with Dr. Oz seems to put the blame directly on her.
“I love coffee ice cream, and we go to friends’ houses and I can’t resist even the bread,” the 74-year-old told Oz, according to Contact Music. “I am a food addict. Tell you the truth. I am literally a food addict. I cannot stay away from foods that I love, which are bad for me – you know, like carbs that are bad. So I’m still a work in progress, as far as nutrition.”
She said she had to worry about holding in her tummy when she's on stage. “So I like to eat and I hate exercise, what are you going to do?”
If Streisand decides to stay in Trump USA, and her weight really is based on the president’s daily pronouncements, perhaps she should consider gastric bypass.
