"American Idol" winner and country crooner Scotty McCreery was reportedly held up by a group of gunmen who broke into an apartment the singer was at early Monday morning.
WTVD-TV, the ABC affiliate in Raleigh, N.C., where McCreery is a student
at North Carolina State University, reported that no one was hurt in the incident but that cell phones and wallets were stolen from McCreery and a group of friends.

WTVD said the men were armed; other news reports said the thieves were armed with guns.
It’s unclear as to whether the apartment was McCreery’s or belongs to a friend of his.
Those living in the apartment complex told WTVD-TV they could hear people charging up the stairs.
"All you heard was yelling like 'Who are you? What are you doing here? ' for a good five minutes. It was just yelling," a female neighbor told the station.
The woman said she then heard people running down the stairs and police arriving shortly after.
"We just thought it was a bunch of college students partying until that point," the woman told WTVD-TV.
No arrests have been made as of Monday afternoon.
McCreery, who is finishing up his sophomore year at N.C. State and is a North Carolina native, has released three top-selling albums after winning “American Idol” in 2011. He’s been compared to country singer George Strait as he performed several of Strait’s songs during the “Idol” competition.
According to his website, McCreery is scheduled to sing at the Buck Owen’s Crystal Palace in Bakerfield, California, on Friday, and then at the Island Resort and Casino in Harris, Michigan, on May 16 and 17.
