American stage hypnotist Scott Lewis has plunged to his death from the balcony of an apartment in Sydney, Australia.

Lewis was in Australia to perform in the Sydney Opera House.

A police spokeswoman said on condition of anonymity Sunday that officers found his body on an apartment balcony on Saturday morning.

Media reports said Lewis had fallen from an 11th floor balcony to the fourth floor. Lewis was staying with other performers at the building, which is a short drive from the opera house.

The spokeswoman said investigators had ruled out any suspicious circumstances.

She says police had yet to determine whether the death was the result of "misadventure or self-harm."

The shows co-producer Tim Lawson and the Sydney Opera House confirmed Lewis's death.
