Scorpions drummer James Kottak will soon be released from a Dubai jail after spending the past month in lockup for allegedly insulting Islam during a drunken incident at an airport.
Officials say Kottak, 51, was drunk when he flashed the middle finger and mooned passengers in a transit hall April 3. According to government-owned newspaper The National, he is also accused of cursing
publicly, yelling about "non-educated Muslims," and asking "what is this disgusting smell?"
"When he saw the Pakistani and Afghan passengers, he covered his nose and said that there was no way he will travel with them," an airport customer service employee who witnessed Kottak's outburst told The National.

Kottak was sentenced to one month in jail for his "offensive" actions.
"I believe that on May 1 or 2nd he would complete his jail term which started from April 3, his ticket was booked and purchased today after I have paid his fine on the alcohol-consumption charges," Hamid Al Khazraji, Kottak's defense lawyer, told The National.
"Even if the alcohol consumption happened on the plane, which is allowed to serve alcohol and the passengers are allowed to drink, the drinking issue itself was highlighted and he was charged with it because he had been involved in an altercation with some individuals at the airport."
The drummer was reportedly traveling with the band to a performance in Bahrain at the time of his arrest. The Scorpions are best known for hits like "Rock You Like a Hurricane," "No One Like You," and "Still Loving You."
