A new ad for Samsung that paints males as nothing but stupid, dirty, unintelligent couch potatoes has men everywhere calling the commercial "vile" and "sexist."
The ad, released May 14, is for Samsung's new Evolution Kit, a plug-in module that upgrades a standard television into a smart TV. In the clip, a woman finds her husband in the living room acting like a Neanderthal — burping, farting, grunting, and watching a silly cartoon.
But after hooking him up to the Evolution Kit, he becomes a lobotomized, multi-tasking super-husband who bakes, cares for the baby, paints the kitchen, waters plants, cleans, serves champagne, and plays the flute.

Viewers, mainly males, were outraged by the depiction of themselves as primitive cavemen.
"That's probably one of the most vile adverts I've ever seen,"
wrote a Reddit user on a forum dedicated to men's rights. "This isn't the normal IV drip of laughing at men; this is simply mainlining outright contempt."
"Are they trying to alienate their primary consumer base?" another person asked.
"Pure filth. I've seen my fair share of 'men are morons' advertisements, but this one isn't even remotely subtle," one Redditor posted. "The fact that the evolved husband is a brain-dead slave to a woman just tops it off."
But AdWeek's David Gianatasio said no publicity is bad publicity.

"The clip is nearing 10 million YouTube views in just a week, and generating gobs of attention for the product, so I'd hardly call it a total stinker," he wrote.
