Curling is not a sport that's typically synonymous with sexy but the women of Russia's Olympic team dropped jaws this week, and it wasn't because of their dominant performance against the U.S.

Ever since the Russian women's curling squad starred in a racy pre-Games photoshoot that was published in multiple magazines, there's been a surge of interest in curling, which is the ice equivalent of shuffle board.
Though they've drawn many a compliment for their looks, skipper Anna Sidorova wants people to acknowledge their talent in curling as well. Indeed, the Russians beat the U.S. 9-7 in Tuesday's matchup.
"It is pleasant to hear that people know us and like us, for sure," she told Yahoo Sports.
"[But] it is much more pleasant when they will like our game and when they appreciate what we are doing. First of all, we are professional [athletes] and then we're pretty girls or [whatever] you want."
But "pretty girls" is all Twitter seemed to notice.
