Rose McGowan was temporarily suspended from Twitter after airing her views on the Harvey Weinstein scandal and targeting other men for undignified behavior as the sexual allegations against the Hollywood mogul play out – most recently actor Ben Affleck.

McGowan revealed Twitter’s heavy hand via a post on Instagram on Thursday.

“TWITTER HAS SUSPENDED ME. THERE ARE POWERFUL FORCES AT WORK. BE MY VOICE. #ROSEARMY.”

McGowan has not been afraid to air her views on the Weinstein debacle, Newsweek reported.

The actress attacked Affleck after he released a statement saying the allegations against Weinstein made him “sick.”

McGowan, who The Huffington Post noted settled a sexual harassment lawsuit against Weinstein in 1997, responded to Affleck’s statement on Twitter. “GODDAMNIT! I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT” you said that to my face. The press conf I was made to go to after assault. You lie,” she posted.

Soon after that her Twitter account was temporarily suspended.

McGowan shared a snapshot of the message from Twitter to her Instagram account, detailing the suspension’s terms and conditions.

The notice said the actress had violated Twitter rules and she would only be able to access limited features for a duration of 12 hours.

The notice further advised her to remove any tweets that were in violation of the site’s rules.

The McGowan suspension left many questioning the motives of the social media network.

One Twitter user noted that racist and homophobic posts were often overlooked, along with Trump’s notorious threat of nuclear war, yet McGowan was banned for calling people out.

Others pointed out that the suspension sent out a demeaning message to other survivors of sexual assault.
