You know the feeling . . . that sinking feeling in your gut as the gas pump meter goes past $40, through $50, and above $60. Well, get ready to cringe, because one famed economist is predicting that it will soon cost you $480 to fill up your tank.

Robert Wiedemer, author of the New York Times best-selling book Aftershock, in a famed interview stated, “We absolutely could see 100 percent annual inflation for a three-year consecutive stretch. Which of course would be a complete disaster for those who are not prepared.”

So what does this hyperinflation actually look like? Well, let’s take a look at fuel prices. Gas is currently around $4 a gallon. Under 100% inflation, gas will double to $8 a gallon in 2013, to $16 in 2014, and by 2015 it will be $32. And since the average gas tank holds 15 gallons, that will be a whopping $480 per tank.

But surely, Wiedemer is an extremist . . . right? Well, in 2006, experts laughed at him when he predicted the four-bubble meltdown in the housing, stock, private debt, and consumer spending markets. Unfortunately, Wiedemer’s predictions were chillingly accurate.

And keep in mind, this type of inflation has attacked several times in history — to Germany during the 1920s, to Brazil in 1990s, and of course, famously, Zimbabwe within the past 10 years.

So let’s assume gas prices merely double, how would it affect your life? Likely in more ways than you think.

That’s because the price of fuel influences the price of . . . well . . . everything. It affects the cost of basic utilities like heating your home, all the way to buying groceries because it costs more for farmers to harvest and ship their crops.

Higher gas prices also mean less profits for companies and, as a result, stocks will tank (Wiedemer predicts that a 90% stock market drop is possible). In turn, companies will be forced to lay off employees (Wiedemer estimates 50% unemployment).

And Bob certainly isn’t alone in his predictions. Peter Schiff, CEO of Euro-Pacific Capital, warns, “The U.S. could see double-digit inflation within the next two to three years, and potential Zimbabwe-style hyperinflation within the next five to 10 years.”

Renowned investment adviser Marc Faber says: “Consumers in the U.S. are getting broker by the day. As food and energy prices rise, consumers will be forced to adjust their spending habits. In turn, adjustment in discretionary consumer spending means more people will lose their jobs.”

The end result of this runaway inflation, says Wiedemer, is economic cataclysm.

Don’t believe him? Well, Bob gives direct proof on his claims that you can see for yourself by viewing the Aftershock Survival Summit.

In this gripping, no-nonsense video, Weidemer not only provides disturbing evidence that confirms his dire predictions — but also explains what the average citizen can do to overcome these obstacles and prosper no matter what happens in the economy. aftershock_taboola.jpg

So far, 30 million people worldwide have viewed the Aftershock Survival Summit — and have benefited from the practical advice it offers.
Russell H., a financial market adviser from Wichita, Kan., declares that the Aftershock Survival Summit “scared the hell out of me. It was a great wake-up call.”

Susan G. from Montgomery, Ala., calls it “eye-opening, and mind-boggling.”

Richard B. from Apison, Tenn., commented, “It gave me the courage to make a move which, had I not made [it], would have left me behind the ‘eight ball.’”

The Dow Jones’ MarketWatch maintains, “Aftershock will teach you how to protect yourself against an increasingly hostile Wall Street-Corporate-America-Washington conspiracy undermining average stock market investors. This is your bible, read it, get into action, and be a winner.”

And, the S&P calls Aftershock “a compelling argument for a chilling conclusion. [His] track record demands our attention.”
