Queen Elizabeth allegedly threw a royal fit over uninvited nibblers noshing on her bowls of nuts.

That revelation, captured in emails submitted in connection with the a phone hacking trial involving the defunct News of the World tabloid, made a London courtroom erupt with laughter Thursday, Reuters reported.

The queen’s irritation stemmed from the palace officers supposedly treating themselves to her snacks. Peeved by the nut-swiping police, she protested.

Royal reporter Clive Goodman wrote in an email sent in 2005 to then-editor Andy Coulson that he had learned about a memo royal police officers received informing them to “"keep their sticky fingers out" of bowls of cashews, almonds, and bombay mix that were placed in corridors throughout the palace for the queen.

"Queen furious about police stealing bowls of nuts and nibbles left out for her in the BP (Buckingham Palace) Queen's corridors," Goodman wrote in an email to Coulson, Reuters reported.

“Problem is that police on patrol eat the lot. Queen so narked (annoyed) she has started marking the bowls to see where the levels dipped," the email said.

Judge John Saunders told the jury that these were "unfounded allegations."

The email was written ahead of the wedding of the Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker-Bowles.

Coulson and Goodman are both on trial for allegedly conspiring to cause misconduct in public office.
