Out-of-shape, middle-aged men are being warned against dancing to the wildly-popular hit “Gangnam Style’’ after a British man vigorously gyrating to it collapsed and died of a heart attack. The media is calling it the first reported Gangnam Style death.

“If you're unused to taking vigorous physical exercise, you shouldn't throw yourself into violent exertion without due preparation," Bernard Keavney, a consultant cardiologist at Newcastle University, told London’s The Daily Telegraph.

Eamonn Kilbride, 46, had just performed the “sexy horse’’ dance to Korean pop star PSY’s smash hit at a Christmas Party in Blackburn, mimicking the riding of a horse to the delight of fellow revelers. Then he fell to the floor with chest pains.

His wife Julie tried to revive him, but he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, with doctors blaming acute heart failure.

Keavey urged revelers to enjoy themselves in moderation during the holiday season.

“In the context of Christmas parties, there are other aspects of advice that are important, like not to overindulge in alcohol and make sure you remain hydrated,” he told The Telegraph. “Don’t put yourself under more physiological stress than you need to be.”

“Gangnam Style’’ has been performed — and parodied — all over the world.

Former Wyoming Sen. Alan Simpson, 81, even got into the act, wiggling and waving his arms to the song as part of a video encouraging young people to get involved in solving the national debt problem.

And at a Washington charity event on Sunday, President Barack Obama watched PSY perform his hit and shook hands with the portly singer.

The meeting raised eyebrows because earlier this month it was revealed that PSY, during a 2004 concert, had rapped about killing Americans as he protested Korea’s participation in the Iraqi war. Last week, he apologized, saying he “forever be sorry for any pain I have caused by those words.’’
