Is Pippa Middleton engaged?

According to Us Weekly, yes. But according to the Daily Mail, absolutely not.

The rumor mill went crazy Wednesday when Us Weekly reported that the Duchess of Cambridge's sister was engaged to marry her longtime banker boyfriend, Nico Jackson.

The gossip magazine claimed that Jackson, 36, proposed to his 30-year-old girlfriend earlier this month during the couple's trip to India's Oberoi Amarvilas, a five-star resort.

"It was exactly how he planned it," a source told Us of the proposal. "Very romantic and grand!"

The source also said Middleton and Jackson are discussing a 2014 wedding date.

But the Daily Mail, the U.K.'s top celebrity tabloid, adamantly denied the rumor.

"As news of an engagement today circulated, a source close to Pippa Middleton says her boyfriend, banker Nico Jackson, has NOT proposed," the Mail reported.

The paper also noted that there was no sign of a ring on Middleton's finger when the pair returned from India last week.

Still, the conflicting reports confused Twitter users.
