Potential presidential candidate Sarah Palin warns that contrary to President Barack Obama/s claims that fiscal problems are just “bumps in the road” to economic recovery, the problems are much more severe than that. Palin also said on Fox News Sunday that she believes the president is hitting a brick wall, Politico reports.

The former Alaska Governor also suggested Sunday that Obama is downplaying disappointing economic numbers for May, saying the president wants to “go down with this sinking ship.”

Responding to new figures showing that the nation’s unemployment rate ticked up slightly to 9.1 percent, Obama said economy is heading in the right direction but that “there will be bumps on the road to recovery.”

Palin pushed back during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday”: “This is not a bump in the road. We’ve hit a brick wall.”
