A super PAC supporting President Barack Obama is using the Olympics to attack rival Mitt Romney.

The ad by Priorities USA Action seeks to turn one of the former Massachusetts governor’s strongest assets against him as the 2012 London Olympics opens, The Washington Post reported.

Romney is widely credited with rescuing the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games. The ad, which will run in the key swing states of Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, seeks to turn the plus into a negative by using the Olympics to highlight Romney’s wealth and business practices, the Post reported.

The ad, titled Romney’s Gold, shows Romney walking in the 2002 opening ceremony and then brings up allegations of outsourcing in China, India and Burma and charges of banking and business dealings in Switzerland, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands.

The ad concludes with the narrator saying, “Ya gotta say this about Mitt Romney: He sure knows how to go for the gold, for himself.”
