An Ohio man convicted of threatening police officers carried out his court-ordered punishment this week by standing on a street corner with an idiot sign proclaiming his stupidity.
Judge Pinkey Carr originally sentenced Richard Dameron, 58, to 90 days in jail back in March after he reportedly got drunk and called 911, saying he would kill police officers. The judge also ordered him to stand in front of the police station with an apology sign.
But when Dameron failed to show up for the first round of public shaming — he claimed he had gotten drunk and didn’t have a ride to Cleveland's Second District Police Station — Carr slapped him with another 90-day jail sentence and an entire week of posing with the idiot sign.

He somehow made it to the station Monday and began his amends.
"I'll stand up and be a man and do what I've got to do and get it over with," Dameron told Cleveland's 19 Action News.
"I apologized to all the officers. I get drunk a lot of times and I make a fool out of myself."
Dameron stood with a black and yellow sign that read, "I apologize to Officer Simone and all police officers for being an idiot calling 911 threatening to kill you. I'm sorry and it will never happen again."
He'll have to hold the proclamation every day this week for three hours a day, according to 19 Action News.
This isn’t the first time someone has had to stand with an idiot sign
as punishment in Cleveland. Last year, the same judge ordered Shena Hardin to pose with a sign reading, "Only an idiot would drive on the sidewalk to avoid a school bus."
