President Barack Obama said there is a chance he could lose the election and he is not taking for granted his most significant lead yet in the race, especially with a still-sagging economy, USA Today reported Friday.
Obama told CBS News there's a chance Republican nominee Mitt Romney could take the presidency. “Oh, absolutely,” he said. “I mean this is going to be a close race.”
“I’m running in in an environment where the economy isn’t where it needs to be. I take nothing for granted. . . . .”I’m going to be working my tail off, trying to present a clear choice to the American people," he said. “And the one thing I hope I'm able to communicate in this campaign is what my values are, what my plan is.”
Obama leads Romney 50 percent-44 percent in the Gallup daily tracking poll, according to USA Today, representing “the most significant, sustained lead in the daily Gallup Poll since Mitt Romney emerged as the Republican nominee last spring,” the newspaper said.
