Despite getting a Supreme Court seal of approval, the public still dislikes Obamacare with only 45 percent viewing President Barack Obama's healthcare overhaul favorably, new ABC News/Washington Post poll revealed.

The poll found that 43 percent had a favorable view of the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the law and 42 percent a negative view.

However, GOP standard bearer Mitt Romney’s plans for healthcare fared more poorly than Obama’s. Just 30 percent had a favorable view of his approach to healthcare while 47 percent view it negatively.

The findings are in line with a series of polls taken since the ruling was issued last week. A CNN/ORC International poll found 50 percent agree with the Supreme Court's decision and 49 percent disagree and that the individual mandate has the support of 48 percent while 51 percent oppose it. A USA Today/Gallup poll conducted June 28 found similar results.

“A challenge for Romney, in addition to his weaker support overall, is the fact that critics of the Supreme Court ruling don’t flock to him as an alternative,” ABC News wrote.

“Among people who see the ruling unfavorably, Romney’s plans for the system get a tepid 45-36 percent positive rating. Among those who see the ruling favorably, by contrast, 86 percent also see Obama’s plans favorably.”

The poll also found that Romney’s healthcare plan gets a 62 percent positive rating among Republicans while Obama’s plan gets 80 percent among Democrats.

“Obama’s plans for the system are 12 points more popular than Romney’s among independents, the customary swing voters in national elections,” ABC reported. “But both men do poorly in this group – 38 percent positive for Obama, 26 percent for Romney. And Obama tips into majority negative territory among independents; 52 percent see his plans for healthcare unfavorably. Romney’s at 46 percent negative, again with more undecided.”
