Even though comedian Conan O'Brien was tasked with hosting this year's White House Correspondents' Association Dinner Saturday, it was President Barack Obama who had the crowd in stitches by joking about a new look and showing Photoshopped pictures of himself with his wife's bangs hanging from his forehead.

"I recognize that this job can take a toll on you. I understand that second term you need a burst of new energy and try some new things," Obama said. "My team and I talked about it and we’re willing to try anything, so we borrowed one of Michelle’s tricks."

The president then turned to a large screen where a few Photoshopped images of himself with bangs were displayed for the crowd.

"I thought this looked pretty good, but no bounce," he said.

Obama's joke had the Internet virtually laughing out loud.

"President Obama: I love your sense of humor!!" one person commented on the Huffington Post's story on the joke.

"Our POTUS has a keen intellect, a sophisticated sense of humor, a healthy dose of humility, an ability to reflect and to admit regrets... these are the attributes we need more of in our elected leaders," another posted.

Michelle Obama made waves in January when she debuted her new hairstyle with bangs. Her forehead fringe became a media sensation, even inspiring its own Twitter account, @FirstLadyBangs.
