Media mogul Rupert Murdoch took to Twitter to compliment Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney Thursday, after criticizing him on the social media site for months, Politico reports.

“At last Romney attacks, looks better,” the News Corp. CEO wrote. “Keep it up! Still needs to address all Hispanics, 80 percent multi-cultural. Dole got 20, Bush 45.”

It’s unclear exactly what Murdoch is referring to with the 80 percent figure. The numbers for Bob Dole and George W. Bush are the approximate portion of the Hispanic vote they won in 1996 and 2004 respectively.

Murdoch also took a dig at President Barack Obama Thursday. “Yesterday Obama went off script, showed real self ie government omnipotent, individuals secondary. Must be big damage.”

The news titan was alluding to an Obama line contained in a new Romney video ad: “"If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that.”

Murdoch and other media executives met with Romney earlier this month, urging him to put more emphasis on immigration.

In recent weeks, Murdoch tweaked Romney on Twitter for not doing enough to attract Hispanic voters and for keeping an ineffective campaign staff.

The criticism of Romney goes back to the primaries. Murdoch even said before the Michigan primary in February that if Romney’s challenger Rick Santorum won the contest, it would be “game over.”

Murdoch’s News Corp., owns the Fox television networks, The Wall Street Journal, and the New York Post.
