MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry has apologized to the Romney family for insulting comments made by a panel on her show regarding one of Mitt Romney's grandchildren.
On Sunday's "Melissa Harris-Perry" show, Harris-Perry and her panel guests discussed 2014's "Photos of the Year." Included was a Romney family Christmas photo, in which the former Republican presidential candidate is shown holding his adopted grandchild, Kieran, who is black.

Guest panelist Pia Glenn broke into song, "One of these things is not like the others! One of these things just isn't the same," a reference to Kieran. "And that little baby, front and center, would be the one."
Harris-Perry contributed by joking about Kieran Romney and North West, the daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, getting married one day.
The website therightscoop.com took Harris-Perry and her panel to task
for the comments.
"Early in the show, Harris-Perry indicates that her guests are all comedians. I guess if repetitive, lazy race-baiting is comedy, then this crew must be ready to go on tour. They can call themselves the Kings and Queens of Comedy," wrote therightscoop poster Caleb Howe.
In her apology, Harris-Perry noted that she feels a connection with the Romney family, as a child of a mixed-race family.
Earlier in December, MSNBC host Martin Bashir resigned after making lewd comments about former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, and in November Alec Baldwin's new show was pulled from the network after he used anti-gay slurs.
