A Florida woman who had just been caught shoplifting threw her 3-month-old baby at a cop Monday in a last-ditch effort to run away.
Ashley Wright, 23, of Pensacola, Fla., was shopping at the Dillard's in the Santa Rosa Mall Monday night when she reportedly went into the fitting room and stuffed $261 worth of women's clothing into a baby stroller.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office said she then walked out of the store and headed toward her car, yelling at her husband to get in the vehicle, NBC affiliate WJHG.com reported.
A deputy approached Wright and demanded she get out of the car, but the woman instead "grabbed a baby carrier and held it in front of her screaming, 'You will have to shoot through the baby to get me!'" according to a sheriff’s report.
Wright, who had two other small children in the car, continued to scream and curse at the officer before finally hurling the baby carrier with the infant strapped in at him and running off.
The baby was not injured and Wright was eventually subdued. She told police she had a few beers and confessed to stealing the clothes "because her kids needed school clothes," even though the items taken included two pairs of women's jeans and a top.
Wright was charged with felony child abuse, petty theft, and resisting an officer, was booked into a county jail, where she remains locked up in lieu of $7,000 bond.
