Miley Cyrus's suggestive performance on MTV's Video Music Awards show in August has reportedly cost her a cover on the coveted fashion magazine Vogue.

Cyrus, 20, was photographed for the magazine and she was supposed to grace the cover in December, but all that changed, after Cyrus' performance, deemed raunchy by critics for her twerking, tongue wagging, and sexualized dancing, according to the Daily Mail. Cyrus sang "We Can't Stop" and then "Blurred Lines" with Robin Thicke at the show, and her conduct reportedly called for Editor Anna Wintour to can her cover and spread in Vogue.

"Anna found the whole thing distasteful," a source told the Daily Mail. "She decided, based on Miley’s performance, to take the cover in a different direction."

A Vogue spokesperson declined to comment to the USA Today when asked about the rumor.

Cyrus says she has no regrets about the highly criticized performance.

"Me and Robin the whole time said, 'You know, we’re about to make history right now,'" Cyrus said last week in an interview for a documentary clip that will air on MTV. "I don't pay attention to the negative because I've seen this play out so many times. How many times have we seen this play out in pop music?"

US Weekly reported that Cyrus's antics have caused drama in her personal life, as her fiancé Liam Hemsworth was not happy with her on-stage behavior.

A source close to Hemsworth said that the couple is "just weeks away from calling it off permanently," according to US Weekly.

"He is over her and wants to make a clean break," the source told US Weekly. "No more back and forth."

If the rumors are true that she will no longer be a Vogue cover girl, at least she will make the cover of another respected fashion magazine. Cyrus recently posed for a Harper’s Bazaar’s fall fashion issue wearing several couture outfits.

Cyrus posed for Vogue in 2009, by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz.

Vogue's next cover, for its 100th anniversary issue, will feature Sports Illustrated stunner Kate Upton in a one-piece swimsuit holding a cake, according to the Daily News.
