Michelle Trachtenberg, who will play Marina Oswald in this weekend's television movie event "Killing Kennedy," said she prepared for the role of the wife of the man who assassinated President John F. Kennedy by reading books and watching documentaries.
"Most of the research was JFK-based. I watched several documentaries about him," Trachtenberg, 28, told AdWeek.com
. "Of course I read the original book, 'Killing Kennedy,' and 'Marina and Lee,' which was the only book that Marina ever sat down and gave an interview for."
"Killing Kennedy," National Geographic Channel's film adaption of Bill O'Reilly's 2012 book of the same name, tells the stories of the final years of JFK and Lee Harvey Oswald, the man accused of assassinating the president
. He was shot himself before he could be tried for the crime.

Starring alongside Trachtenberg is Will Rothhaar as Oswald, Rob Lowe as JFK, and Ginnifer Goodwin as Jackie Kennedy. The film premieres ahead of the 50th anniversary of the assassination on Nov. 22.
Lowe previously told The Associated Press that shooting the film was an emotional experience
, especially seeing his co-star Goodwin in Jackie Kenney's bloodstained pink Chanel suit.
"Seeing her in that beautiful pink Chanel with bloodstains on it was unbelievably emotional," he said. "It made it real. If I were under any illusions about what we were doing, seeing her in that iconic moment was, I would say, sobering."
"Killing Kennedy" premieres Sunday at 8 p.m. EST on National Geographic Channel.
