"Family Ties" mom Meredith Baxter has tied the knot with her partner Nancy Locke, legally cementing a relationship that’s been ongoing since 2005.
People magazine said Baxter and Locke wrote their own vows,
which they exchanged in a small ceremony in Los Angeles that family and close friends attended.

“Now I understand why marriage caught on,” she happily told People.
Baxter, 66, was married three times before, to Robert Lewis Bush, David Birney, and Michael Blodgett. She has five children from two of those marriages.
People said Baxter came out in 2009, although she was already involved with Locke, a building contractor. At that time, she told People that she was “a lesbian mom,”
but said that, for years, she hadn’t considered that she was gay.
“I feel like I’m being honest for the first time,” she said then.
Her children were supportive at the time of her decision to come out, and her son, Peter, told People, “I just couldn’t stop smiling because she finally figured it out.”
All five of her children attended Sunday’s wedding, People said.
When Baxter went public about her sexuality, her “Family Ties” co-star, who played her husband on the show, Michael Gross, told People
he was completely supportive of Baxter’s choice to let people know what was going on in her life.
"It seems to be a seamless melding of individuals and families. Meredith's children are very accepting of this and I myself have met Meredith's partner on numerous occasions," Gross told People. "I've traveled with them. She's just a first-rate individual — and I like her a lot. My wife does, as well."
Toks Olagundoye of “The Neighbours” tweeted her congrats:
