George Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson, have a new daughter. Everest Hobson Lucas was born via a surrogate on Friday.

The Huffington Post first reported the birth.

Lucas and Hobson are the latest celebrities to have a baby via surrogacy: Jimmy Fallon and his wife, Nancy Juvonen, just had a daughter, Winnie Rose Fallon, born July 23.

“My wife and I had been trying for awhile to have a baby,” Fallon told TODAY. “We tried a bunch of different things, so we had a surrogate.”

Lucas and Hobson were married June 22 at Skywalker Ranch in Marin County, just north of San Francisco.

Lucas sold his Lucasfilm Ltd. Production company to the Walt Disney Co. for more than $4 billion in October; Hobson, 44, is president of Ariel Investments, chair of Dreamworks Animation and a financial contributor to CBS.

Lucas and Hobson have said they met at an Aspen business conference in 2006.

In an interview on OWN last year with Oprah Winfrey, Hobson detailed the evolution of their relationship.

“I think it works because we are extraordinarily open-minded people and we’re open to what the universe brings us, and I think we didn’t have preconceived ideas about what a partnership should be and so we allowed ourselves to discover something that was unexpected.”

The marriage is the first for Hobson, the second for Lucas.
