Mel Gibson has been tapped to play the villain in the upcoming "The Expendables 3" alongside a crew of action stars including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, and Harrison Ford.
Gibson and Antonio Banderas are reportedly the newest additions to the star-studded cast after the controversial departure of Bruce Willis last week.
Willis, who starred in the first two installments of the film, reportedly wanted $1 million a day for a four-day shoot in Bulgaria.

"He said he'd drop out unless he got $4 million," a source close to the production told the Hollywood Reporter.
"A million dollars a day. Stallone and everybody else involved said no."
Stallone, who wrote the film series, quickly replaced Willis with Ford and later tweeted a few cryptic messages that his reps confirmed were about Willis.
According to inside sources, Banderas has been offered a role in "The Expendables 3" but has not yet signed on officially. Stallone said he is looking forward to working with Banderas again, as it's been 18 years since the two starred together in "Assassins."
"He is a consummate actor and a gentleman," Stallone said of Banderas in a statement to HuffPost Entertainment.
"The Expendables 3" is scheduled for a 2014 release.
