Fox News' Megyn Kelly is making the move into the cable network's prime-time line up, the network announced Tuesday, but whether she will have a regular time slot is unclear.
Fox News did not announce a prime-time slot for Megyn Kelly, the New York Times reported
, but speculated that she could move into Greta Van Susteren's 10 p.m. position. Van Susteren recently signed an extension of her Fox contract but her future role is not certain at this point.

Van Susteren's husband and lawyer, John Coale, hinted at the move to The Times' Brian Stelter
in May. Coale, who learned he had cancer in December and is now recovering from surgery, said Van Susteren would be open to an earlier time slot from her "On the Record" show so they could spend more time together.
If Van Susteren moved her show, the 10 p.m. slot would be open for Kelly, a rising star on Fox News. Kelly has been the host of "America Live" from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. since 2010 and regularly appears on the network's top-rated "The O'Reilly Factor" for legal analysis, according to Fox News.
Kelly, who has a degree from Albany Law School and previously worked as a corporate litigator, joined Fox News in 2004. Before that, she worked as a reporter at WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C., and played a prominent role during Fox's televised Republican primary debates in 2012. She also led coverage of Fox's confirmation hearings for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. and Chief Justice John Roberts.
Van Susteren gained prominence during the O.J. Simpson trial, which she provided legal analysis for. She went on to host "The Point with Greta Van Susteren" and "Burden of Proof."
The change is not expected to make a difference in Fox News' dominance in the cable news wars; Fox beat CNN and MSNBC in ratings during the second quarter of 2013.
But Fox scored its lowest ratings since August 2001 in the coveted the 25-to-54 age group. The Times suggested that inserting Kelly into the prime-time lineup was an effort to boost those numbers.
