The challenge is to douse oneself with a bucket of ice water or donate to the ALS Association, and celebrities, politicians, and regular people alike are joining in.

Zuckerberg, who was challeged by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, posted his video on Facebook (where else?) and challenged other tech bigwigs Bill Gates, Sheryl Sandberg (Facebook's COO), and Reed Hastings (Netflix's CEO) to do the same.
Other notable names who have participated include Keith Urban, Eli Manning, Jimmy Fallon, and Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert F. Kennedy, who doused herself with ice water and challenged President Obama to get in on the action.
Time reported that Obama declined the ice bucket challenge
, but will donate money.
The president of the ALS Association said the ice bucket challenge has boosted donations by 1,000 percent
over the same time last year.
