A New Hampshire man who blew $2,600 trying to win an Xbox Kinect at a local carnival claims the game that caused him to lose his life savings was rigged.

Henry Gribbohm, 30, recently went to a traveling carnival set up in Manchester and "got caught up" trying to win the gaming system on Tubs of Fun, a game in which contestants try to toss balls into a tub. Gribbohm said he tried a few practice throws and got the ball in easily, but when he went to play for the prize, he claims the balls kept popping out.

Gribbohm told CBS Boston he kept playing double or nothing trying to get his money back. He quickly ran through $300, and went home to get $2,300 more, which he also soon blew.

"You're expecting the kids to win a few things, let the kids have a good time," said Gribbohm. "It just didn’t turn out that way. You just get caught up in the whole 'I've got to win my money back.'"

Gribbohm reportedly returned to the carnival the next day to complain, and the man working the booth gave him back $600 and a stuffed banana with dreadlocks — a consolation prize. Gribbohm then filed a report with the Manchester police accusing the game operator of fraud.

Fiesta Shows, the company that runs the carnival, hires independent contractors to run its game booths. Tubs of Fun is suspended while Fiesta and the Manchester police investigate Gribbohm's claims that the game is rigged.

"They've been with us quite a while," Fiesta Vice President John Flynn told CBS Boston. "First I ever heard of anything like that."

Gribbohm said he is considering filing a lawsuit.

"For once in my life I happened to become that sucker," he told CBS Boston. "It was foolish for putting up my life savings."
