Apple may be planning to launch a MacBook Air with Retina display in the second half of this year, according to a report Tuesday.
Citing unidentified sources within the company's Taiwan-based supply chain, Digitimes says the Retina MacBook Air is on the horizon for the fall
, and would be one of several new models. No other specifics about the machine were shared.

A Retina MacBook Air would be a welcome addition to the MacBook Pro line, despite a higher price point than existing MacBook Air models. Two Retina MacBook Pro versions are currently available
