LeBron James' hairline is making headlines as the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player shaved his head during the off-season.

Glenn Moore of Cleveland.com said the Miami Heat star showed off his bald look during his recent "Witness History" tour in the Philippines.

Moore wondered, "LeBron has always joked around about his hairline, but is this just a temporary style or a long-term cut?"

Dan Favale of the Bleacher Report said the bald look is something James should consider when he returns to Miami to defend the Heat's NBA title in the fall.

"LeBron, 28, has been battling a receding hairline for a while now," Favale said in his Lineup blog. "Inevitably, not even his headbands were enough to bridge the gap between his eyebrows and the onset of his fade. And when his trusty tiara went missing, we were blinded by the excess of empty space it left in its stead. For some reason, submitting to the absence of hair altogether just works. Going all natural is in, as it no longer seems like LeBron is trying too hard to cover it up."

Steve DelVecchio of Larry Brown Sports said the photos seem to put to rest rumors that James would begin a battle against the bald look.

"LeBron James has finally allowed his receding hairline to win," DelVecchio wrote this week. "The two-time NBA champion has been moving his headband further and further up his head for the past several years in an attempt to hide the fact that he is going bald. There have even been crazy rumors that he rectified the issue by getting hair plugs, but those turned out to be untrue."

The "Witness History" tour helped introduce James-themed sneakers to the Philippines, with the help of Nike.

SneakerNews.com said the tour featured "some cool in-store events as well as some live demos of the King on a basketball court. His time out there has already resulted in a couple of killer sneaker exhibits."

"This is very overwhelming," James said to welcoming fans in the Philippines, according to Inquirer Sports. "I can’t believe this is my first time here. Definitely, it’s not going to be my last."
