Lawyers for the controversial Church of Scientology have indefinitely postponed actress Leah Remini's scheduled deposition that was to be part of a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the religion and its leaders, according to RadarOnline.com.

Remini, who famously defected from Scientology over the summer, was reportedly supposed to give a deposition Oct. 15 about her experiences being harassed by the church and its leader David Miscavige.

But defense attorneys "don't particularly want [Remini's] deposition taken," RadarOnline.com reported.

"It was delayed by agreement to take her deposition at a later date," Marc Wiegand, the plaintiff's attorney, told the gossip site. "As of right now, the date is not set in stone."

The lawsuit was filed in August by Monique Rathbun, who is married to former high-ranking Scientologist Marty Rathbun. The Rathbuns are accusing the organization and Miscavige of running a "notorious, multi-billion dollar cult."

Remini, 43, was a member of the church for 30 years before leaving in July.

"I believe that people should be able to question things," Remini told People magazine at the time. "I believe that people should value family, and value friendships, and hold those things sacrosanct. That for me, that's what I'm about. It wouldn't matter what it was, simply because no one is going to tell me how I need to think, no one is going to tell me who I can, and cannot, talk to. I'm not about to shut up."

Though her tell-all deposition is pending, Remini is keeping busy competing on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." She has survived the first six weeks of competition and earned rave reviews this past week for her "Ginger Rogers"-esque quickstep, earning a score of 27 out of 30.
