The Huracan replaces the V10-powered Gallardo model, the company’s best-selling model, which went out of production after 10 years, the New York Times reported
The new 3,135-pound Lamborghini features a 610-horsepower 5.2-liter V10 and top speeds of 201 miles per hour. To help it stop, the car has carbon-ceramic brakes.
There is a growing demand for such high-performance cars.
"Extreme (cars are) growing in volume and price," PwC Autofacts analyst Michael Gartside told the Wall Street Journal
. "People want more exclusivity. Something others don't have."
The Huracan’s interior has fine Nappa leather and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen.
As with most Lamborghinis, the car is named after a famous bull. Huracan was a Spanish fighting bull that fought in Alicante in August 1879. Huracan is also Spanish for hurricane.
