Actress Kyra Sedgwick cut off the tip of an index finger while cooking up some kale over the weekend, but husband Kevin Bacon posted online — with pictures — that she would be OK.

“My baby is fine,” tweeted Bacon (@KevinBacon). “Still can’t find the tip of that finger.”

Bacon had earlier quipped on Whosay.com: “Kale isn’t always healthy… if you chop the end of your finger off.” A photo accompanying the post shows Sedgwick holding up the damaged digit while laying on hospital gurney.

Sedgwick, 47, is an experienced actress who made her professional debut at age 16 on the soap opera “Another World” and is probably best known for her role as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the crime series “The Closer.” Bacon stars on the Fox serial-killer drama “The Following.” The two have been married since 1988 and are reported to have an extremely close relationship.

In a Redbook magazine interview, Sedgwick talked about the misgivings she had with her success as The Closer.

“It’s been really exciting and fulfilling creatively to play a character for this long. I didn’t have high expectations when I took this job, because I had never done a TV series before and the last thing I wanted to do was move to L.A. for six months of the year. But now I have to live with the wonderful success of it all and the bittersweetness of that success – because success means I’m not home.”

Sedgwick isn’t the only Hollywood star to suffer from a sliced finger. Sandra Bullock ex Jesse James recently sliced off part of a pinky in his motorcycle shop. He, too, took to posting photos on social media sites. “Bad day at the office,” he wrote on his Twitter feed.

Doctors reportedly told James they were unable to reattach the little finger.

And it's not quite a sliced finger, but Hulk Hogan apolgized recently after tweeting gruesome photos of his badly burned hand.
