Kyra Sedgwick had a freak accident in the kitchen over the weekend when she sliced off a fingertip while chopping kale, but luckily husband Kevin Bacon was there to lighten the mood and capture the whole ordeal in pictures.

Bacon uploaded a photo to his Whosay page of his wife lying on a hospital gurney on Saturday and holding a bloody tissue on her left index finger.

"@kyrasedgwick in the ER. Kale isn’t ALWAYS HEALTHY… if you chop the end of your finger off," he wrote.

Later, Bacon posted a second photo of Sedgwick giving a thumbs up with a giant bandage around her injured finger.

Fans spoke out on Twitter to wish "The Closer" actress a speedy recovery.

Sedgwick isn’t the only celebrity to lose part of a finger recently. Back in May, Jesse James posted a gruesome picture of his severed pinky on Instagram after a shop accident.
