Eliot Spitzer's former madam and current political opponent, Kristin Davis, recently sent out a scathing email condemning the disgraced former governor while attempting to raise funds for her New York City comptroller bid.
In the email, which is titled "Help me stop Eliot Spitzer," Davis draws a sharp contrast between herself and Spitzer, addressing her criminal past as it relates to her opponent.
Having spent several months in prison for her role in running the escort service — which Spitzer used leading up to his 2008 resignation as New York state governor — Davis says she accepted responsibility for her actions and paid her debt to society.

Spitzer, on the other hand, Davis writes, "avoided prosecution," through "using his wealth and connections" which he inherited "from his billionaire father."
Spitzer's father is New York real estate tycoon Bernard Spitzer.
"I was left penniless, homeless, and as a woman with a criminal record, unemployable," Davis writes. "Spitzer merely returned to his multi-million dollar Fifth Avenue apartment and life of privilege."
"I am rehabilitated. He is not," Davis adds.
The former Manhattan madam also points out her "background" in "finance and business," while writing that Spitzer, an attorney and former New York Attorney General, "has no experience in the private sector."
"I have been honest with voters about my background," Davis writes. "Eliot Spitzer lied about the illegal funding of his campaigns for Attorney General, lied about how often he utilized the services of call-girls, lied about voting for President Obama (he didn't even vote!)."
Davis concludes her email with a direct appeal for contributions, writing: "I don't have millions of dollars. I can only count on people like you. ... Money is urgently needed for petition gatherers, printing and TV and radio ads exposing Spitzer's entire record and to lay out the contrast between Spitzer and me."
Spitzer's primary competition for the NYC comptroller position is Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, who has secured the endorsement of nearly every elected Democrat in New York after abandoning the mayoral race to run for comptroller.
Below is Kristin Davis' email in its entirety.

Will you help me stop Eliot Spitzer?
We are both canididates for New York City Comptroller – but the simularlity [sic] ends there.
We both violated the law when I operated the escort sevice that provided call girls for Spitzer when he was both Attorney General and Governor. I accepted responsibilty for my actions. I plead gulity and served four months on Rikers Island. Spitzer, using his wealth and connections avoided prosecution.
I was left penniless, homeless, and as a woman with a criminal record, unemployable. Spitzer merely returned to his multi-million dollar Fifth Avenue apartment and life of privilege.
I am rehabilitated. He is not.
Because I accepted responsibility for my actions and changed my life I deserve a second chance. Spitzer has not changed – and he does not.
I have a background in finance and business. I worked for ten years on Wall street as the Senior Vice President for Compliance for a multi-billion dollar hedge fund. I built a multi-million dollar business from scratch. I understand how the free market works. Eliot Spitzer has no experience in the private sector - he has spent his adult life in government and has inherited his wealth from his billionaire father.
Even William F. Buckley's National Review recently concluded I am better qualified for this job than Eliot Spitzer.
I favor cutting spending, taxes and oppose more borrowing. As Governor, Eliot Spitzer raised state taxes after promising while running for governor not to do so. I think economic growth is the answer to New York's problems. Spitzer thinks more government regulation is the answer.
I have the temperment, judgement [sic] and mental balance to be an effective New York City Comptroller. Based on his public outbursts and temper tantrums, threats to "steamroll" those who he disagrees with and, according to then Democrat Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, his use of the New York State police to spy on and smear his opponents, Eliot Spitzer is unfit for any position of public responsibility.
I have been honest with voters about my background. Eliot Spitzer lied about the illegal funding of his campaigns for Attorney General, lied about how often he utilized the services of call-girls, lied about voting for President Obama (he didn't even vote!) and now he's lying about how much money he spent to collect the petititions to get on the ballot.
Make no mistake about it. Eliot Spitzer will not be satisfied being New York City Comptroller. This is merely a stepping stone to his next office.
Won't you help me beat this career politician who is unfit for public office? I will be the candidate of the Libertarian Party in New York City where Democrats outnumber Republican six to one.
I want to debate Eliot Spitzer but I think he is afraid to debate me.
Spitzer has announced he will spend millions of his father's money to buy this election. He is by-passing the New York City public finance system so he can spend without limition. He spent $1 million just to get on the ballot. He is already running expensive TV ads in New York City – but he still won't admit to the crimes he committed.
I don't have millions of dollars. I can only count on people like you.
Won't you go to http://davis2013.com/donate/ now and make a contribution of $25, $50 $100 or even $250 today? By law you can give up to $4950.
If you are a New York City resident your contribution could be matched under the City Campaign Finance program at six-to-one!
Money is urgently needed for petition gatherers, printing and TV and radio ads exposing Spitzer's entire record and to lay out the contrast between Spitzer and me.
I am the one candidate who can beat Eliot Spitzer but I need your help to do it. Please let me hear from you today.
