North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will challenge the U.S. Army as the star of a new video game called "Glorious Leader!" according to developer Moneyhorse Games.

The controversial idea is "retro run 'n' gun style game" that contains seven levels, and will be available by the end of the year for PCs and mobile devices.

Gamers are tasked to "defeat waves of imperialists, combat over-the-top bosses and ride unicorns," according to the company website.

In a video trailer for the game, a pixelated Kim battles U.S. military forces through the streets of Pyongyang and burns the American flag. A gun-toting Dennis Rodman is also featured in the game.

Moneyhorse Games CEO Jeff Miller told The Guardian that the game was born out of his fascination with North Korea. The paper raised the point that the game may trivialize the serious accusations made against Kim and the Pyongyang regime, but Miller said the company is trying to "carefully walk the line of satire without being an apologist for the regime."

The game is geared toward gamers "who are big into retro," Miller told The Guardian.

"Glorious Leader!" isn't the first game with North Korea as the subject matter. In 2012, Koryo Tours created Pyongyang Racer, which let players drive around the streets of the capital.
