It's no secret that Hollywood stars make use of plastic surgery and other techniques to stay looking fresh on screen. But Kelly Ripa, co-host of "Live! With Kelly and Michael," has taken to injecting Botox in an unusual spot.
It was revealed in a lengthy Elle Magazine
profile that Ripa receives Botox injections not just in her forehead, but also in her armpits.
According to the piece, the TV host looked bright and fresh when leaving a grueling spinning class because, Ripa said, she got the injections in the under arm to avoid sweating.
The mother of three was previously reported as saying she gets Botox treatments as often as possible, when all of her other anti-aging efforts fail.
"I work out absolutely every day. I don't overeat. I try to drink water but I prefer wine, and when all else fails, I get Botox injected right here, right into my forehead, as much as possible," the Huffington Post
overheard her saying one weekend.
In the Elle interview, she talks about how the Botox treatments keep her eyes looking tight and bright.
"Every seven months or so my eyelid skin rests on my eyelashes. So I feel like it makes my makeup artist’s life easier, and it makes my eyes look a little more open on TV, which is where I happen to work right now."
Ripa even makes mention of how her kids alert her to the need for another injection.
"Oh, you know when you really need it?" The Huffington Post reported her saying. "It's when my kids start asking me if I'm mad at them, and I go, 'Why do you think I'm mad at you?' They go, 'Because you're frowning.' I go, 'Oh no! I am? I'll be right back!'
"Give me Dr. Brant: He's the best, he is my real husband," Ripa said, speaking of her Botox doc.
