Kate Gosselin and her brood are heading back to television this summer for a one-hour "Kate Plus 8" special that will catch-up with the Pennsylvania mom and her eight kids.
The Gosselin family captivated viewers for seven seasons on the TLC show "Jon & Kate Plus 8," which was later changed to "Kate Plus 8" after the couple's divorce in 2009. The show chronicled the trials and tribulations of raising twins Mady and Cara, who are now 13, and sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel, who will soon be 10.

People magazine reported this week that Kate Gosselin and the kids are filming a one-hour special "Kate Plus 8"
special to air in June on TLC. It will be the family's first foray back into reality TV since their show wrapped in 2011, though Jon Gosselin appeared on Season Four of VH1's "Couples Therapy" with girlfriend Liz Jannetta.
No word from TLC on whether the Gosselin family patriarch will appear in the special, but he slammed his ex-wife in December and accused her of wanting a life in the spotlight.
"Kate wants to still be on television," he told Philadelphia Magazine at the time
. "She's now digging into the past, because that's what sells."
Perhaps the new TLC special is Kate Gosselin's redemption after an embarrassingly awkward "Today" show interview in January in which 13-year-old Gosselin twins Mady and Cara clammed up and could barely form sentences.
