Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, perform her last solo "official" public appearance Thursday before going on maternity leave. Fittingly, she christened Princess Cruise Line’s newest ship, the 3,600-passenger Royal Princess.

The due date for the birth of the newest addition to Great Britain’s royal family is July 11, according to reports.

Middleton, 31, is working on furnishing a nursery at Kensington Palace for the first child born to her and Prince William. The child will be third in the line for the throne, after Prince Charles and Prince William.

In December, Middleton was hospitalized in London’s King Edward VII Hospital for Hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition characterized by nausea, vomiting, and dehydration during pregnancy.

Now she’s going to take it easy.

She’s not going to be running around with a bump that size so I think she’ll be putting her feet up, relaxing, spending time with her family and spending time with William,” royal consultant Victoria Murphy told ABC News in an interview. “[She'll be] playing the waiting game.”

Reports emerged in March of this year that the royal couple is expecting a girl, but royal sources claim that the couple does not know the sex of the baby.
