Joe Namath Fur Coat Most-Talked-About Super Bowl Moment (Video)

The Seattle Seahawks may have won the Super Bowl Sunday night, but Joe Namath definitely scored the title of most talked-about ensemble for his signature fur coat.

Namath, the 70-year-old Super Bowl III MVP and Pro Football Hall of Famer, was selected to perform the pre-game coin toss (which he bungled by flipping early). But his giant fur coat overshadowed his appearance and also sparked outrage from animal rights group PETA.



Many Twitter users echoed PETA's message and criticized Namath for wearing fur, though it's not clear whether the coat was real or faux.




Other Twitter users, however, praised Namath for his fashion sense.




Namath was also the buzz of the Internet for flipping the coin before either team had called a side. Here's a clip of the gaffe:
