Jennifer Lopez's upcoming first book, "True Love," will explore how her children helped her through a "transformative two-year" journey to overcoming her greatest challenges and fears, the singer revealed over the weekend.
"True Love," which hits bookstores Oct. 28, is a memoir written in the form of diary entries. It will also include newly released photos of the entertainer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Lopez has 6-year-old twins, Max and Emme, with estranged husband Marc Anthony.

"Writing 'True Love' has been a deeply cathartic, personal, and vulnerable experience," Lopez said in a statement. "If it were not for the love and courage given to me by my children, this story wouldn't have been possible. While I struggled with the decision of whether or not to release this book, I recognized that if it could touch even just one person then it would honestly become one of the most fulfilling endeavors of my life."
Publisher's Weekly reported that a portion of the profits
from the book will go to the Lopez Family Foundation, which supports the health of women and children. Celebra, a division of Penguin, will produce the book, which will be published in English and Spanish, noted Publisher's Weekly.
Celebra publisher Raymond Garcia said he believes Lopez's fans will see the same talent, creativity, and hard work that she puts into performances on stage and in movies reflected in her book.
"Jennifer Lopez is a remarkable author who fully invested her heart and soul into every page of her book," he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "She channeled her unparalleled work ethic, fearless honesty, perpetual creativity and artistic vision to realize an absolutely beautiful story that will surely touch and inspire readers around the world."
Lopez, who also serves as a judge on "American Idol," also made headlines this week at the Billboard Music Awards, where she received the Icon Award, E! Online reported
