Academy Award-winning Jennifer Lawrence is a huge fan of "Homeland" and its star Damien Lewis, so she was thrilled to meet him on a red carpet until a reporter let slip a spoiler from Season 3 that Lawrence hadn't seen yet. (Spoiler ahead if you haven't seen the Season 3 finale either.)

The shock came during an interview on the Access Hollywood platform during Sunday night’s Screen Actors Guild awards show. Lawrence found herself somewhat starstruck when she spied Lewis, who plays Nicholas Brody, being interviewed a few feet away.

Lawrence said "Homeland" is one of her favorite shows, but she has only seen the first two seasons (twice) because she has to wait for Season 3 to come out on DVD.

“That is Brody, I’ve never met Brody before, oh my, I can’t look, don’t look,” Lawrence said.

The gushing prompted Lewis to come over and introduce himself.

“It’s like my favorite show ever!” Lawrence proclaimed.

“Let’s cuddle,” Lewis said, as he gave her a hug.

“You’re so great, the show’s amazing, my ears are so red!” Lawrence said. And then ...

“Are you upset that he died?” said the reporter who was interviewing Lewis. “They killed him off,” blurted the reporter interviewing Lawrence.

"What? I can't process this right now. ... I can't believe you did that. I don't even know what to say," Lawrence told the reporter, who begged the actress to not be mad at her. "I’m past mad. It’s this weird other emotion. ... I feel like my heart just fell out.”

Lawrence claimed the Best Actress Oscar for her leading role in the 2012 romantic comedy “Silver Linings Playbook.” She won a Golden Globe Award in January as Best Supporting Actress for 2013’s “American Hustle,” a role for which she also has been nominated for an Academy Award. To many, however, Lawrence is better known as Katniss in "The Hunger Games" film series.

Lewis has won an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award for his role as Marine Sgt. Nicholas Brody in “Homeland.” He has been married to actress Helen McCrory for nearly seven years, and the couple have two children.
