Janet Leigh's former home, a luxury house once owned by the "Psycho" actress, is on the market for $7.9 million. It is home to the famed shower where the slasher scene was filmed.
The four-bedroom, four-bath, 5,180-square-foot home has been renovated by the current owner, according to a Caldwell Banker listing, The Los Angeles Times reported.

The listing web site Zillow.com describes the residence as sitting on a 0.57 acre lot, with dark hardwood floors, high ceilings, and an open floor plan. A tennis court and pool views of the skyline are among the outdoor amenities.
"Perched on its own promontory in the hills of Beverly Hills with head on views from Downtown to the Pacific Ocean is this newly remodeled celebrity contemporary estate," the listing states.
"Gated and private with open rooms to the views. Living room fireplace is two sided with a floor to ceiling white rock wall, the cooks kitchen is open to a generous seating area for intimate dining and opens to the outdoor built in barbeque and cabana area next to the lighted tennis court. One guest bedroom down with bath 2 beds and generous master up with fireplace and dual remodeled baths with generous closets and detached office perfect for working from home. Wonderful opportunity to live, work and play!"
Leigh, the mother of actress Jamie Lee Curtis, died in 2004 at age 77. She's best remembered for her role as Marion Crane in the classic Alfred Hitchcock film "Psycho" (1960), and also starred in "Touch of Evil" (1958) and "The Manchurian Candidate" (1962).
After Psycho, in which Leigh's character is stabbed to death in the shower by Norman Bates, the actress famously stuck to baths, saying in a 1995 New York Times interview,
"I have absolutely no intention of stepping into a shower."
People have long been fascinated by celebrity homes, which are often built on sprawling land and exist at times as cities unto themselves.
In May, country superstar Taylor Swift reportedly paid $17.7 million for a 16-room mansion in Watch Hill, R.I. That purchase came a few months after she sold a house on Cape Cod.
