Actor Jackie Chan has cheated death many times throughout his movie career, but he can't seem to beat death rumors that have persisted on the Internet.

According to Hoax-Slayer.com, the latest round of Jackie Chan death rumors started in mid-June with a fake Facebook post that read: "Hollywood Breaking News - Jackie Chan died after perfecting a deadly stunt. Jackie Chan falls from a building of 12 floors. Police are currently investigating. Watch the original video of the deadly stunt and their effort to save Jackie Chan. (for 18 years and above). R.I.P. JACKIE CHAN 1954 – 2013. Hollywood Headlines. You will always be in our hearts forever. Rest in Peace."

The actor fought back with a lighthearted retort on Facebook on June 21, accompanied with a photo of a newspaper.

"Hi everybody! Yesterday, I got on a 3am flight from India to Beijing. I didn’t get a chance to sleep and even had to clean my house when I got home. Today, everybody called to congratulate me on my rumored engagement. Afterward, everybody called me to see if I was alive," Chan posted.

"If I died, I would probably tell the world! I took a photo with today’s date, just in case you don’t believe me! However, thank you all for your concern. Kiss kiss and love you all!"

Chan's post received 244,390 likes by Thursday afternoon and has been shared 13,480 times.

The Huffington Post reported this is the second time a death hoax involving Chan went viral on Facebook; in 2011, the page "Jackie Chan R.I.P 08/17/2011 was created and said the actor died of a heart attack.

Few celebrities have been immune to death hoaxes. Former Disney star Hilary Duff set the record straight this year when a rumor circulated that she had fallen off the same New Zealand cliff Jeff Goldblum fell from and died in 2009.

Other stars with fake death reports include Justin Bieber (2009, 2010, 2011), Britney Spears (2001, 2009, 2010), Lindsay Lohan (2011), Will Ferrell (2006), Christian Slater (2010), Will Smith (2011), Russell Crowe (2010) and Eminem (2009). (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/news/celebrity-death-hoax)
