An impala on the run from two cheetahs in South Africa's Kruger National Park leapt into a tourist's open SUV window to try and escape in a viral-worthy video making the rounds Thursday.
University of Pretoria student Samantha Pittendrigh and her friends were on a day trip at the park and stopped along with other cars to watch a pack of impalas fly by. Pittendrigh filmed the animals as they tried to outrun two cheetahs in hot pursuit.
"The cheetahs chased the impala across the road and they disappeared into the bush, but they came back around again," she told South Africa's Independent Online.
"We heard a loud bang and then the people in the car started screaming 'open the door, open the door.'"

The impala tried to jump over a Toyota Prado that had stopped to watch the chase, but instead got lodged in the SUV's open back window.
The tourists in the car quickly opened the door and the animal ran off uninjured, according to the Daily Mail.
"It's a good thing they were not chasing an elephant!" one person commented on the video.
"They are lucky that just the impala jumped in and not the cheetah too," someone else wrote.
"How stupid to have a window open in this park where a cheetah or a lion could jump in," another said.
"Wow! I guess the impala wasn't hurt," someone else posted. "I have been on safari and these tourists were very lucky to have witnessed this predator-prey interaction."
