Stewart, a bartender who also worked for a local insurance company, was to marry Brian Bond, 35, who was among four other people injured on the 21-foot speedboat when it crashed into a barge Friday night near the Tappan Zee Bridge, in Tarrytown, N.Y.
Lennon, whose body was discovered by a jet skier one mile downstream from the crash site, was to be the groom's best man at wedding – which was scheduled for Aug. 10.
The speedboat operator, JP Morgan Chase banker Jojo John, 35, of Nyack, N.Y., was allegedly drinking at the time of the crash and has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and three counts of vehicular assault, authorities said.
John is presently recovering at Westchester Medical Center having also sustained injuries from the crash.
According to friends of John, the banker who is reportedly known for his partying ways was "stunned into silence" at the news his friends are dead, the New York Post reported
"He’s pretty messed up right now," a source close to John told the New York Post. "He knows he’s in trouble with all the charges, but right now he’s more devastated that his friends are dead."
Another fiend of John, Rena Respetio, said "He does like to go out and have a good time," adding, "He’s a pretty happy-go-lucky guy."
According to police, John had in 2010 performed community service and was placed on probation for drug-possession, the New York Post reported.
